THE WORKAHOLIC GOVERNOR BALA
By Abdullahi Rufa'i Adamu
Bauchi state has experienced paucity in running of good governance from the previous administration ranging from lack of provision of social amenities, reduced in cash flow, infrastructural development among others.
The emergence of Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as the new Governor of Bauchi state brought about many changes in almost all the sectors which includes payroll system, efforts in repositioning the state's educational system and improvement in the infrastructural development within the capital and in the entire state.
The current administration under the mantle of Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is committed in awarding the construction of many roads within the state.
The Governor, however, is not at rest in terms of renewing the agreement of the leftover projects of the previous administration.
Governor Bala of the PDP, in his first year in the office as the Governor of the state, had completed many capital projects across the state that none of his predecessors has recorded such sort of achievements in his first year in the history of Bauchi state.
The completion of the abandoned projects of the previous administration by the Governor is an attestation of his diligence towards providing infrastructural development in the state to enable the state to compete with its counterpart states.
Last week, I came across a post on Social Media by Lawal Mu'azu Bauchi, Special Assistant to Governor Bala on New Media, that the abandoned Federal Low Cost-Railway road is currently at completion stage. However, the ongoing road project from Kankare, Udubo to Gamawa which was also reawarded by the administration of His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is recording a remarkable progress.
Despite the fact that the Governor is in his first year and in the first tenure, he still maintains to be in the frontline of the People's Democratic Party.
The PDP appointed the Governor as the Chairman of the 2019 Election Review Committee, aimed at looking for feasibility to take over the mantle of the leadership in 2023 general elections. The members of the committee include;
Mr Iyorchia Ayu, a former Minister of Industry during the administration of the Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was then the President of the Senate from 1992-1993, Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, the former Governor of Ogun State, Mr Gbenga Denial, an elder statesman and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Jerry Gana and the Former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The appointment of Sen. Bala as the chairman of the committee is sequel to his selfless service rendered to the Party, and realizing his commitment in delivering good leadership in his state.
