Ward and village heads in Miri Chiefdom of Bauchi State have been admonished to maintain a continuous security watchful eyes and consciousness in their respective communities to help avert forcible security breaches in their immediate communities and Miri District as a whole
Mallam Hussaini Abubakar Usman, District Head of Miri, gave the advice on Monday when he presided over a Security Council Meeting with traditional leaders from his domain in his office.
Mallam Hussaini Abubakar said that Bauchi State is the only state in the Northeast blessed with uninterrupted peace and stability, hence the need for Miri traditional leaders, being one of the critical security stakeholders closer to the people in Miri Chiefdom, to give their quota towards maintaining peace and stability in their domains.
“I urge you to do everything possible within your capacity to maintain the long existing peace which Bauchi State is enjoying and known for,” the District Head said.
Mallam Hussaini Abubakar warned the ward and village heads to desist from accommodating unknown visitors in their communities who might be having high rates of crime profiles in their former communities which will invariably reflect in the new community they settle and cause security infringements.
The District Head cautioned them to verify any document brought to them containing signatures of Emir of Bauchi and Chairman, Bauchi Local Government before they either accept or sign on such documents but from the right persons and appropriate channels.
He advised them to report anybody that brings such documents to them to the higher authorities for appropriate measures to be taken in lieu of the same.
He further advised the traditional leaders to out rightly decline gifts in form of animals or cash from unknown alien persons saying such people could be enemies of the relative peace Bauchi is enjoying at the moment.
